Chapters CTC.

A Laravel-built assessment platform — 15 clinical and wellbeing instruments, automated scoring and PDF reports, and a built-in CRM for a residential rehabilitation centre.

Chapters CTC is a residential rehabilitation and mental wellbeing centre in Nairobi, treating substance use disorders and mental illness. Getting a prospective patient from "something is wrong" to "here is the specific programme you need" takes a real clinical assessment, not a contact form. We built the engine that does that.

The problem

Rehabilitation centres run on trust built before a patient ever walks through the door. Most people researching treatment online are not ready to call a phone number cold — they want to understand their situation first, privately, without committing to anything.

Chapters needed to give that understanding immediately, and turn it into a scored, clinically grounded picture of a visitor's situation — not a marketing quiz, but something built on the same instruments a psychiatrist would use. And whatever the visitor did next, the resulting lead needed to land somewhere real: a pipeline, not an inbox.

None of that existed. The site was a brochure. Every prospective patient had to make the first move by phone.

What we built

We built a Laravel assessment engine covering fifteen instruments across three tiers: a seven-domain Wellbeing Index for executives, families, students, and workplaces; Chapters' own proprietary REWRITE assessment, which maps a respondent across seven recovery stages and recommends a specific clinical service for each; and a clinical screening centre running validated instruments — PHQ-9, GAD-7, AUDIT, and DAST-10.

Each assessment walks the visitor through a private, one-question-at-a-time flow, scores the response with instrument-specific logic — domain scoring, percentage banding, chapter-ranking for REWRITE — and generates a downloadable PDF report on the spot. Logged-in patients skip the intake step entirely, since their details are already on file, and can track their results over time in a dedicated portal.

Every completed assessment becomes a scored, status-tracked lead in a built-in CRM — new, contacted, qualified, converted — feeding an admin dashboard with completion trends and lead volume. Where a visitor consents to contact, "Book Consultation" opens WhatsApp with a message already filled in, referencing the exact service their result recommended.
