Accessories Kenya sells tech accessories across Kenya. Their previous platform was a generic e-commerce template that did not handle the local payment infrastructure or support the catalogue depth they needed. We built them a platform built specifically for how Kenyans shop.
The problem
Generic e-commerce platforms are built for the global market. They assume credit card payments. They assume customers have reliable international payment methods. In Kenya, where M-Pesa is the primary payment method for most consumers, a platform without native M-Pesa integration loses a significant share of potential customers at checkout.
The catalogue problem was separate. With hundreds of products across multiple categories, the previous platform made browsing and filtering slow and unreliable. Product discovery — finding what you came for — was harder than it needed to be.
What we built
We built a product catalogue with structured categories, filter and search, and clean product pages. Customers can navigate by category, filter by price, and find products without friction.
Checkout is integrated with M-Pesa STK Push — the customer receives a payment prompt on their phone, confirms the amount, and the order is processed automatically. No redirects, no manual payment confirmation, no waiting for someone to check M-Pesa manually.
Order management gives the Accessories Kenya team a complete view of every order — status, payment confirmation, fulfilment, and customer communication in one place.
What changed
- M-Pesa checkout eliminates the payment drop-off that affected the previous platform
- Order processing is automated from payment confirmation through to fulfilment notification
- Product discovery is faster — customers find what they need without navigating a poorly structured catalogue
- Every order has a complete audit trail — payment, status, and communication history
